The Qym Planner Kit: February and March Main Kit Edition Review

This is a month plus plus due post. I was supposed to blog about the February and March Main Kit Edition last month but I've got so many things on my hand at the moment, I can barely find my ME time. Let alone do my creative work. I figured out the best way of doing it is to do the review of both kits in one blog entry. How about that?

I will start with the February Kit. If you want to read my review on the January Main Edition Kit you can read it here. Anyways, these are what you will receive if you subscribe to last month kit.

The first thing that caught my attention is the burlap drawstring pouch with bunnies and floral prints. This heavyweight fabric can be used to protect your planner from scratches or stains and judging from the size of it, I guess it will fit the A5 planner best.

But I love the rugged leather look of my planner. And as you can see, the pouch is way too large for my personal sized journal. So I gave it to AZ so she bring it to school to put her P.E shirts in.

Next is this black ink fountain pen together with its refill. Love the inscription of the brand on the lid. Now this is what I meant when I said in last month kit review that I wished they would come out with novelty items. I don't mind paying extra for things that are unique or truly theirs.

Then, I got this green and yellow floral washi tape. Retail at RM 6.

This grey, square, marbled sticky notes is next on the list. You have ample space to write your notes on as it is slightly bigger than the normal yellow sticky notes that you can easily find at normal stores. Price: RM 9.

Small card with envelope shaped bookmark at the front. Price: RM 9.

The last item are these emoji stickers. RM12 for the whole bunch.

Next is the March Kit. There are ten items in this month kit as you can see below.

A notebook with lines from Wordsworth's Daffodills at the front cover. Retail at RM10.

It is a single line notebook.

Another set of emoji stickers. But fret not, they are different set of emojis compared to those from the February Kit. Retail at RM12.

This sticky note may look like page markers but the width is a lot bigger than the normal ones. It has that pink ombre effect that made it unique. Retail at RM 9.

More labels...not that I mind getting them at all. I found them to be really handy for my monthly journal. You can use them to label your appointments and highlights important things in your schedule. Price: RM 9.

Purple fine tip pen at RM 8. This one writes really well and it doesn't bleed the pages of my journal, which is a big yes for me.

And four pieces of journaling cards. I am not sure how I am going to use them yet. Probably as tip-ins instead of dashboards.

You will notice these cards are gold foiled. and they retail at RM 16.

However, two of the cards have stains. They are not that obvious but no one likes to see dents on your new car, right?

Lastly is this black and gold foiled Christmas themed washi tape. If only it is December, then it would be more appropriate, wouldn't it? Price: RM 8.

Overall, I would say that if you love receiving stationery handpicked for you, you might want to subscribe with Planner Malaysia.  I have subscribed with them since last January and the kits will arrive at my home on the first week of every month without fail.

I do wish that they are more careful with the pricing especially with the existence of Daiso, ezbuy and Mr DIY. People would compare that with the same price that they are paying for the subscription, they will get the same items in larger quantities if they buy them elsewhere. But I do hope that they also know that stationery lovers are willing to pay extra for unique items in a heartbeat.

The Qym Planner Kit: January Main Kit Edition Review

Received the January Main Kit Edition from @theqymplannerkit or @plannermalaysia. I had a three month subscription with them and this month is my first kit. This is the main kit, priced at RM55 (price for  month series) plus RM12 for postage. That means RM201 for the entire three months.

So for each month, you are supposed to get all these:
-Sticky notes/Note page
-Sticker sheets
-Page Flags
-A Mini Journal
-Clips
-Pen/Pencil/Highlighter
-Washi Tape
-A Specialty Item

They also have add on kits where you can get either two washi tapes OR three sticker sheets + three sticker flakes on top of your main kit. You just need to add RM12 (each).

 This is the whole look.

Notes from them.

I really love that they include this in the kit. It gives you an illustration of all the items together with the prices. So basically I saved RM8 for this kit.

The first item is this green polka-dot washi tape.
Retail at RM6.

Next, is this multicolour gel pen that changes colour as you write. I have been looking for it for quite some time. So I am glad that they include this pen in this month kit.
Price: RM5.

Another page marker to add to my collections. Since I have plenty of page markers, I try to maximize their uses. The kids use them to mark the Quranic/Iqra' page that they are currently at. They also use the page markers as decorations for their school projects. I remembered AM glued the woodland theme page markers all over his cardboard trees.

You can also stick the cute page markers'characters on pencils. Find an empty box for a stage. Sit back and get yourself entertained by some puppet shows by the kids.
Price: RM9

A 40 sheets memo pad with floral theme. As you can see, the page has dotted lines and tick boxes. You can easily transformed it to a to-do list, grocery shopping list, projects that needs to be done etc.
Price: RM18

2017 calender sticker. I have the weekly insert system, so this might come in handy.
Price: RM8.

Next, is this butterfly sticky notes. You can use it as wall deco or simply a memo pad. For RM16, I think it is a bit pricey.I have seen it at Lazada before. If you know Lazada well enough, you will notice how they have different prices for the same thing. You really have to spend more time to find vendor that sells the lowest price. So far I've seen one that sells this at RM7.80. I just thought that I can get two or three sticky notes with the same value of money.

 The one at LAZADA.

...and guess what? This one at Shopee for just RM1.50!!

Then, I have two regular size papers with prints on them.

The first one has green chevrons all over on one side. At the back, is this watermelon with/without seeds illustration that you can cut into small envelope. Or it can also function as pockets that you can put in your journal to hold small sticker flakes, notes, washi samples etc.

The second one has watermelon, pineapple and popsicle. And more watermelons and pineapples at the back. You can use these for decorations or laminate them for your planner page dividers. Altogether, the price is RM8.

Lastly is this Midsummer letter set which consists of one paper and an envelope.
Price: RM5.

Overall, I would say that I am somewhere in between. No major love or hate. I like all the items received. They are all in great conditions. I just wish with RM55, they could curate more items. How? RM18 for one memo pad. They could use the same money for two memo pads. Or the RM5 for A letter set. I could have FIVE letter sets (five papers and five envelopes) with that price. And RM8 for two pattern papers is a tad too much, don't you think? And that butterfly deco stickers, they need to be more careful when they set on the pricing.

I have nothing but warm wishes to the team. Here, I am hoping that the next month kit will WOW me more. More unique items with reasonable prices, please!

Owndesignbook Planner Kit Review

A box full of stationery? Yes, please!!

I placed an order from @owndesignbook for her planner kits last month. I believe she also does custom notebooks and she sells stationery, badges...among others. The planner kits once payment are made, will arrived within 7-14 working days. So mine arrived exactly two weeks after payment.

The parcel came in a box wrapped in kraft papers.

Underneath, is this beautiful pink, vintage box that I could use to store so many things.

This is what you will see once it is opened. Altogether, there are 41 stuff that fit in that box. The first item that you will get is this pastel coloured 100 Days Schedule. It has elephants and hearts decorations. There are so many ways of using this schedule. I am thinking of making the kids record their good deeds each day. Or maybe ask them to write different kind of activities that they want to do and see whether they can achieve doing all of them. Maybe they can see whether they are able to do their neuro exercises religiously within these 100 days.

What a coincidence that AZ favourite animal is an elephant.

Next is this shoe-shaped pencil case. It is available in various colours like dark blue, green, pink, grey, purple, yellow, brown etc, but you can choose yours. I picked this soft blue and pink pencil case. It is also surprisingly light.

The pencil case is almost the same length as your standard pen.

Most pens can fit inside. Although the curve sides may limit the number of pens.

It also functions as a pen holder.

I also get this 24 coloured pens by Plus Pen 3000. The colours are vibrant and you get different shades of each colour.

And the best thing is they are fine tipped pens. I find that it is easier to use them in tight spaces especially in my small size journal.

Look at all these pens in different designs and colours.

Lollipop pens.

Hello Kittty pens.

I called them cats and fish bones pens.

These are Mini Bear pens.

They all have their own names.

Ever wondered why they are called mini bear pens? Look closely at the tip.

And just when I thought I had enough pens....here comes more of them. Well, it sure doesn't hurt to own a few more, kan?

The next item is this mini marker pen that comes in six different colours.

Washi tapes are next. Love it whenever there are washi tapes in any planner kits. I keep on hoarding them. They are just too cute. Plus there are so many things that you can do with them. These are the polka dots and stripes pattern, soft coloured washis. The only let down is they don't really stick hard on surfaces other than paper.

Who doesn't want a rabbit scissor?

...or a pink giraffe with a yellow bow cutter?

Love love love the staplers.

Even love the fact that even the staples are colourful.

Retractable correction pen.

Brown bear and Cony rabbit bookmarks.

And the stickers. Some of them have phrases that I don't even understand but I am pretty sure they are in Koreans. Find them really useful to decorate my journal.

Sticky memos and page markers with traveling theme. You have envelopes, stamps and luggage decorations. 15 sheets for each design.

Then I also get these three items. One sticky memos, sticker sheet and a notebook to replace the other items that I should initially get I suppose.

Her instagram photo. The circled ones are those that were originally in the planner kits. But she replaced them with the said items above.

I paid RM160 for the planner kits. Hers is a bit pricey if you compare to other planner kits by other sellers. Most of the monthly kits are between RM20-RM60, never really exceeding RM100. But this kit is not  a monthly kit.You need to pre-order it. However, I do think that it is a value for money kit as you get as many as 40 plus items that will probably cost you more if you were to buy each of them from Daiso, for example.

I am mostly satisfied with all the items received. If there is a second planner kit with different items curated, I would not hesitate  to purchase from her again. All I can say is I am one happy customer.
